Position Summary

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Central College seeks applications for a part-time Anthropology or Sociology instructor to teach Urban Problems during the winter and spring terms. Our Urban Problems course (SOA 190) is an introduction to urban life from a sociological perspective. Examines issues of urban culture, racism, poverty, power, and community from both analytic and practical perspectives. Major goal of the course is to engage in an enlightened debate on the nature of urban life. Candidates possessing a Ph.D. are preferred, but those with an M.A. and college-level teaching experience will be considered.

Winter Term: Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to 9:50 a.m., January 3 – March 14, 2017.
Spring Term: Mondays from 6:30 to 10 p.m., March 27 – June 5, 2017.
