Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies. The Director of Marketing and Recruitment, School Graduate and Professional Studies will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and overseeing the strategic marketing and recruiting plans for all graduate and adult degree completion programs at North Central College. The Director will take an active leadership role in overseeing all aspects of the marketing and recruitment processes and strategies with the goals of increasing both the number and quality of tuition-paying graduate students; increasing the visibility of the College’s graduate academic programs in local, national and international venues; generating high quality leads for the adult degree completion program; generating more high quality applications to all master’s level programs; and increasing net graduate tuition revenue. The Director will work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communication.

Description of Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain, review regularly and execute the comprehensive marketing and recruitment plan for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and for each individual program in the school; establishing relationships with respective graduate program faculty and staff, to collect and synthesize key marketing messages. ’
2. Develop and manage the marketing and recruitment budget for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
3. Maintain, review regularly and execute a strategic recruitment programs that support the various graduate programs and the strategy for the adult degree completion program.
4. Manage social and digital marketing campaigns and manage advertising placements in coordination with the various campus stakeholders.
5. Recruit potential students by attending recruitment fairs, job fairs, and though relationship building with businesses.
6. Maintain, review regularly and execute a comprehensive communication plan that includes print and social media, recruitment mailings, print collateral materials, e-mail recruitment campaigns, and ongoing messaging with applied/admitted graduate students.

7. Review enrollment reports annually to determine ways to increase program development and effectiveness.
8. Oversee recruitment and communication strategies to move a significant percentage of prospective students from the applied/admitted status to the enrolled graduate student or adult degree completion status.
9. Collaborate with the College’s Director of Communications and the Office of Marketing and Communications to strategically maintain initiatives and propose new and innovative media engagement opportunities that support and extend name recognition for programs within the School of Graduate and Professional Studies
10. Sustain key relationships with the Office of Alumni Engagement and adhere to established alumni engagement guidelines while coordinating alumni activities and strengthening a School of Graduate and Professional Studies alumni network.
11. Maintain content for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies website and coordinate strategic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) with the Office of Marketing and Communications
12. Conduct market research in association with new program development initiatives and to monitor ongoing marketing and recruitment activities
13. Collect data and establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of marketing and communication campaigns; coordinating efforts with the Office of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Institutional Effectiveness
14. Work collaboratively with the Office of Development and the Director of Corporate Relations to facilitate business-to-business partnerships that strengthen recruitment initiatives and increase financial support to the College.
15. Maintain, review and regularly update marketing plans and tactics to drive retention (including paid and earned media, direct response, events and digital campaigns
16. Adhere to the College’s graphic and brand standards as established by, and in collaboration with, the Office of Marketing and Communications and preferred marketing and communications vendors.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. The ideal candidate will be personable, innovative, versatile and results-oriented, have experience developing strategies and marketing plans for individual programs, and have a strong background in digital marketing strategies and technologies.
2. Strong understanding of the graduate education landscape and admissions best practices, with a demonstrated competence in writing, editing and creative direction.
3. Knowledge of project management tools.
4. Ability to build relationships with external vendors and agencies.
5. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the college
6. Knowledge of and Ability to have direct oversight of market research and business analytics.
7. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to work independently.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The responsibilities of the Director of Marketing and Recruitment, School Graduate and Professional Studies will include maintaining, implementing and executing an overall graduate admissions marketing and recruitment plan. Additionally, the Director will continuously maintain and modify the vision for incorporating marketing and recruitment plans, interfacing effectively with the College’s Office of Marketing and Communication and with program directors to meet the enrollment needs of the individual graduate programs. The Director will work with staff and the dean to develop and implement strategies to achieve enrollment targets for each of the graduate programs, certificates, and adult degree completion program.

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications. Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in marketing, advertising or communications, preferably in higher education.

Licenses or Certifications

A current Illinois Driver’s License is required
