Position Summary

The Department of Communication and Media Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in public relations and new media, beginning September 2018. ABD applicants with the degree near completion will be considered; a Ph.D. in hand is strongly preferred. Applicants should demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring as well as a commitment to scholarship.

The successful candidate will teach courses in public relations, digital media, persuasion and business communication and develop upper-level courses in public relations/strategic communication. Ability to teach public speaking, group communication and interpersonal communication will be a plus. Applicants with professional experience are especially desired.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville, IL. The college is within walking distance of the Naperville Metra station and is next to downtown Naperville.
