Position Summary

The Department of Economics in The School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in macroeconomics at the rank of assistant/associate professor, beginning Fall 2018. Teaching responsibilities are at both undergraduate and graduate levels and may include blended or online formats. In addition to introductory and intermediate undergraduate classes of Macroeconomics, preferred areas of teaching interest include Money and Banking and International Economics.

Ph.D. in Economics; ABDs within one year of degree completion considered. For associate professor, candidates must have doctorate in hand, plus at least 4 years teaching experience and provide evidence of scholarship. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence, mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship/research works.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville. North Central College, an institution with 42 consecutive years of balanced budgets, is in a period of growth with the addition of a $60 million Science Center opened in March 2017. The School of Business and Entrepreneurship will move in to a newly renovated building with a Bloomberg Finance Lab in Fall 2017. The School is in the process of initial AACSB accreditation. The college is within walking distance of the Naperville Metra station and is next to downtown Naperville.
