Position Summary

The Department of Theatre at North Central College seeks applicants for an adjunct instructor of acting for the musical theatre. We expect to have one course available for each of our winter and spring terms. Acting for the Musical Stage will be taught in the winter term (January 3 – March 14, 2018) and focuses on the practical application of the actor’s craft to the musical theatre performance, with emphasis on acting the song. Musical Theatre Scene Study is our spring term laboratory course (March 26 – June 6, 2018) in American musical theatre; this course integrates acting, singing, and dance for vocal solos, duets, ensembles, and choruses.

Experience with musical theatre is required, and college-level teaching experience is preferred.
